Gluten free Jowar Chakali Recipe

Ingredients For Gluten-Free Jowar Chakali

  1. Jowar Flour – 2 cups
  2. Water – 2 cups
  3. Carom seeds / Ajwain – 1 TBSP
  4. Sesame seeds – 1 TBSP ( Optional)
  5. Red Chilli powder – 1 TBSP
  6. Turmeric powder – 1 Tsp
  7. Coriander- cumin powder – 1 TSP
  8. Salt to taste

Method –

  1. Start by boiling water in a pot.

  2. Once it’s boiling, add ajwain, coriander-cumin powder, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, optional sesame seeds (1 TBSP), and salt. Mix everything together.

  3. While the water is still hot, add jowar flour and stir thoroughly, ensuring there are no lumps. Cover and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until it forms a dough-like consistency, similar to chapati dough.

  4. Wet your hands with cold water, then take a sufficient amount of dough and place it in a chakli maker to shape your chakalis as desired.

  5. Deep-fry the chakalis until they turn a light golden brown color on both sides.
