Besan - Dinka Laddu

Ingredients

  1. Besan / Chickpea flour -  1 cup 

  2. Nachni / Ragi flour -  ½ cup

  3. Edible Gum - ¼ cup

  4. Powdered sugar - 1 and ½  cup

  5. Vegetable oil - ½  cup

  6. Cardamom powder - 1 Tsp

  7. Raisins - 1 TBSP

Methods

1. To a wok add ¼ cup vegetable oil. Warm it up.  Add edible gum to it and roast till the gum puffs up. Remove the gum and cool it down. Grind in a fine powder in a mixer/blender.

2. Add remaining oil to the wok and add besan / chickpea flour. Saute on low flame till it turns golden brown .Add ragi flour to it and saute till it releases nutty flavor.

3.  Let the mixture cool down. Once warm add sugar , cardamom powder , and raisins. Mix well.

4. Make into small or medium size balls . Optionally garnish with your choice of almond or cashew nut .
