Tomato Basil Pasta is a classic Italian dish that combines the vibrant flavors of ripe tomatoes and fresh basil with perfectly cooked pasta. Ingredients For Vegan Tomato Basil Pasta

  1. Noodles – 1 pack – You can use Gluten Free Noodles for gluten free option
  2. Cherry Tomatoes – 15 – cut in halves
  3. Garlic – 5-6 cloves – finely chopped
  4. Basil leaves – 8-10
  5. Olive Oil –  2 Tsp
  6. Water – 8 cups
  7. Salt to taste.

Method For Preparing Tomato Basil Pasta Recipe

  1. To Cook noodles – add water , 1 Tsp salt and 1 Tsp oil to a pot. Let the water come to a boil. Add noodles and mix well. Let the noodles cook till they are just cooked or have a bite to them . Strain the excess water and wash the noodles with cold water . Save the pasta water and noodles separately for latter use
  1. Heat a wok on medium heat . Once hot, add 1 Tsp olive oil , finely chopped . Saute for 2 minutes.  Add cherry tomatoes , salt to taste. Remember you have added salt in noodles too. Saute for 5-6 minutes till the tomatoes turn mushy.
  2. Add ½ cup pasta water. Mix well. Let it simmer for a minute. Add cooked pasta and mix well. Add fresh basil leaves and serve hot. 

Tips – 

  1. Do not over cook the noodles to get a nice bite while eating .
  2. As we are not adding any cheese , Adding the pasta Water in this recipe gives it a nice creamy texture.
