Ingredients: For Vegan suji ke gulab jamun Recipe

For Gulab Jaumn –

  1.  Rava / Suji fine – 1/2 cup
  2.  Almond milk or any non-dairy milk – 1/2 cup
  3.  Sugar – 1 Tsp
  4.  Vegetable oil – 1 Tsp

    For Syrup:

    • 1 cup sugar
    • 1 cup water
    • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
    • Saffron strands (optional)

      Ingredients: For Gulab Jamun:

      • 1/2 cup fine rava/semolina
      • 1/2 cup almond milk or any non-dairy milk
      • 1 tsp sugar
      • 1 tsp vegetable oil
      • Oil for deep frying (around 1 cup)

How to Make homemade vegan suji ke gulab jamun Recipe Step-by-Step Instructions

Instructions:

  1. In a pan, add non-dairy milk and 1 tsp sugar. Mix well and bring to a boil.
  2. Add 1 tsp vegetable oil to the pan and stir well.
  3. Add rava / suji to the mixture, keep stirring and make sure there are no lumps.
  4. Close with a lid and cook on very low heat for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Switch off the heat and let the mixture rest for another 5 minutes.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a plate and knead into a soft dough.
  7. Make equal-sized small smooth balls from the dough. If at any point the dough feels too dry, sprinkle a few drops of non-dairy milk. Be careful not to make the mixture too soft or wet.
  8. Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan on medium heat and fry the balls until they turn golden brown.
  9. Once all the gulab jamun are ready, add them to sugar syrup and bring it to a boil.
  10. Let the gulab jamuns rest in the syrup for at least 30 minutes.
  11. Serve hot or cold, garnished with chopped nuts if desired.
