Ingredients For Vegan Kobichi Vadi
- Cabbage - freshly grated - 2 cup
- Chickpea flour / besan - 1 cup
- Rice flour - 1/4 cup
- Turmeric powder - 1 TSP
- Red chilli powder - 1 TSP
- Coriander-cumin powder - 2 TSP
- Salt to taste.
- Vegetable oil - 1 TSP
- Sesame seeds - 1 TSP - optional
- Ajwain seeds - 1 seeds - optional
How To Make Vegan Kobichi Vadi Recipe
- In a mixing bowl add freshly grated cabbage , turmeric powder , red chilli powder , coriander-cumin powder , salt to taste. Mix well. Cover the mixture keep aside for 10 minutes.
- Add rice flour and mix well.
- Add the besan and knead into a soft bowl , do not add any water, just add as much besan as it fits into mixture.
- Add oil and shape the dough to cylindrical shape greasing hand with oil.
- Steam the dough for 15-20 minutes.
- Cool the dough and cut into thick slices.
- Further deep fry or shallow fry the slices in hot oil.
