Ingredients
- Tomatoes - finely chopped - 4-5
- Onion finely chopped - 1
- Vegetable oil - 1 TBSP
- Mustard seeds - 1 TSP
- Cumin seeds - 1 TSP
- Curry leaves - 4 - 5
- Hing powder - 1/4 Tsp
- Green Chilies - finely chopped - 2
- Turmeric powder - 1 Tsp
- Red Chilli powder - 1 Tsp
- Cumin-Coriander powder - 1 Tsp
- Goda Masala / Garam Masala - 1 TBSP
- Jaggery - 2 TBSP
- Sesame seeds powder - 1 TBSP
- Chana dal / Dalia - coarsely grinded - 1 TBSP
- Salt to taste.
Method
- Heat a Pan on medium flame. Once hot add oil.
- Once the oil is hot add mustard seeds. Once they splutter , add the cumin seeds and hing powder , green chilies and curry leaves.
- Add Onions and saute till they turn translucent.
- Add finely chopped tomatoes. Mix well.
- Add turmeric powder , chilli powder, goda masala , cumin-coriander powder, salt to taste. Mix well. Cover and cook for 8-10 minutes.
- Add sesame seeds powder , coarsely grinded chana dal or dalia , jaggery. Mix well. Cover and simmer on low heat for 5-7 minutes.
- Garnish with finely chopped cilantro . serve hot with Paratha , roti or rice.
