Ingredients For Palak Vadi
- Spinach - finely chopped - 1 cups
- Moong dal - soaked - 1 TBSP.
- Sesame seeds - 1 Tsp - optional
- Chickpea flour / besan - 1 cup
- Bhajani pith - 1/2 cup
- Turmeric powder - 1 TSP
- Red chilli powder - 1 TSP
- Coriander powder - 1 Tsp
- Cumin powder - 1 TSP
- Salt to taste.
- Vegetable oil - 1 TSP
How To Make Palak Vadi Recipe
- In a mixing bowl, add finely chopped spinach, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander-cumin powder, and salt to taste. Mix well, cover, and set aside for 30-40 minutes.
- Add soaked moong dal and mix thoroughly.
- Incorporate the bhajani pith and besan, then knead the mixture into a soft ball. Do not add any water.
- Grease a steamer plate with oil and transfer the spinach mixture to the plate. Steam the dough for 15-20 minutes.
- Once the dough has cooled, cut it into thick slices. You can choose to deep fry or shallow fry the slices in hot oil.
- Finally, serve the spinach vadi with a hot cup of chai. Enjoy your delicious snack!
