Batata Kachrya, a beloved Indian potato dish, is a delightful combination of simplicity and bold flavors. Ingredients For Batata Kachrya

  1. Potato - finely cubed - 4-5
  2. Onion - finely chopped - 1
  3. Vegetable oil - 1 TBSP
  4. Mustard seeds / mohri - 1 Tsp
  5. Cumin seeds / Jeera - 1 Tsp
  6. Hing powder - 1/4  Tsp
  7. Turmeric powder - 1 Tsp
  8. Red chili powder - 1 Tsp
  9. Salt to taste.

Method

  1. Heat a pan on medium heat and add oil.
  2. Once the oil is hot add mustard seeds. Once they splutter , add the cumin seeds and
  3. hing powder.
  4. Add finely chopped onions and saute well and cook till onions turn translucent .
  5. Add turmeric powder , red chilli powder , salt to taste and mix well.
  6. Add potatoes and mix well. Cover and cook for 7-8 minutes.
  7. Garnish with finely chopped cilantro. Serve hot with roti.
