Pineapple Sheera

Craving for something sweet . Enjoy this new version of traditional sheera or halwa as it is called.

Suji / Semolina  - 1 cup

Sugar –  1 cup

Vegetable Oil –  2 TBSP

Water -  2 cups

Pineapple cut into small cubes  - 1 cup

Melon seeds - 1TBSP (Optional)

Charoli - 1 TBSP (Optional)

Cardamom powder – 1 tsp

Saffron – ¼ tsp (optional)



  1. In a pan take 1 TSP vegetable oil. Add the pineapple cubes and 1 tbsp of sugar. Saute the pineapples till they get nicely cooked.

  2. Heat the water

  3. Roast the suji / semolina in 1 tbsp of vegetable oils till it turns nice golden color.

  4. Add the hot water to semolina.  Cover and let it cook for 3-4 minutes. Till the semolina gets cooked.

  5. Add the remaining sugar to semolina. Add cardamom powder ,  almonds.

  6. Mix the Kesar in 1 tbsp of any non dairy milk. Add that to the mixture. This step is optional.

  7. Mix the semonila mixture well.

  8. Add the pineapple cubes. Mix well.

  9. Cover and let it cook on low flame for 5 mins till the sugar melts.

Plate and Serve while hot.
