Vegan Curd Rice Recipe

Vegan Curd rice, also known as yogurt rice, is a staple dish in South India. It’s a simple yet flavorful rice dish that’s often enjoyed as a side dish or a light meal. Ingredients For Preparing Vegan Curd Rice –

  1. Cooked rice – 1 cup
  2. Almond milk – plain – unsweetened – ¼ cup
  3. Almond yogurt – plain – ½ cup
  4. Vegetable oil – 1 Tsp
  5. Cumin seeds / Jeera – 1 Tsp
  6. Urad dal – 1 Tsp
  7. Hing powder – ¼ Tsp
  8. Curry leaves – 3-4
  9. Whole dried red chillies – 3-4
  10. Salt to taste
  11. Cilantro – finely chopped – for garnishing.

Method –

  1. In a pan, mix cooked rice, almond milk, and almond yogurt together until well-combined. Add salt to taste, cilantro, and mix well.
  2. For the tempering, heat 1 tsp oil in a pan and add cumin seeds, urad dal, hing powder, curry leaves, and red chilies. Mix well and add the tempering to the rice. Mix well.
